Andy Hawkins is a music producer, recording and mixing engineer based in Leeds, UK. Originally hailing from the industrial midlands, he began playing instruments at a young age and soon progressed to experimenting with recordings on borrowed four tracks. A spell as a touring musician gave way to a career in full time recording, running a small studio behind a music shop. Eventually he decided to exchange the diesel fumes of East Anglia for the cool breezes of the North. He couldn’t find his way back to the motorway so he’s been there ever since.

Andy is now based full time at The Nave in Leeds. This is an amazing recording space based in in an old converted church, full of classic equipment and instruments both old and new and is constantly being added to. You can have a look for yourself here. Being based at The Nave allows Andy to explore creative avenues on his productions without having to keep an eye on the clock or the budget.

Andy’s work has received glowing reviews in many major publications (Metal Hammer, Kerrang, Classic Rock, Line Of Best Fit, Louder Than War, NME to name but a few) and has been played on major radio and television networks all over the world, as well as picking up syncs on TV programs, adverts and films. He has worked for both major and independent labels, but is equally happy to deal direct with artists themselves.
